Our Story

On behalf of our Founder/CEO, Minh Nguyen, Nguyen Lawyers shares a deeply personal story that reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting students facing adversity. Minh grew up in poverty and was the first in his family to attend college. During that time, he experienced significant financial burdens, including periods of housing and food insecurity. He often slept in his car, used campus facilities to meet basic needs, and worked multiple jobs while attending school full-time to support his family. These challenges weighed heavily, both physically and emotionally, as he navigated the demands of higher education under difficult circumstances.

At a critical point in his journey, the support of his mentor and former law partner, Jeffrey Pop, made a lasting impact. Recognizing Minh’s struggles, Mr. Pop offered guidance and assistance without expectation, providing encouragement and stability during a time of great need.

Minh’s experience continues to shape Nguyen Lawyers’ mission. The firm is grounded in the belief that acts of kindness—no matter how small-can profoundly change the trajectory of a person’s life. Through initiatives such as its scholarship program, Nguyen Lawyers is committed to uplifting students facing similar challenges and helping them pursue their educational and career aspirations.

The Partnership

As part of a partnership with Long Beach Coast, Long Beach’s new minor league baseball team, Nguyen Lawyers, A Law Corporation, will award nine (9) up to $2,500 scholarships—a total of $22,500—to 9 deserving Long Beach Unified high school seniors who will enroll in a four-year college or university in 2026.
